Lehnware Covered Saffron Cup

A turned and paint decorated lidded saffron cup by Joseph Long Lehn (1798-1892), of Clay Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
The lid having strawberry and leaf decoration on salmon ground within green and black bands above narrow band ornamented with trailing vine with off-white leafy devises. The body with stylized floral and leaf decoration against wide band of salmon above the red painted turned stem raised on the multi-stepped base painted black and red. Excellent condition. (Height: 4.5-inches.)
