This dramatic picture depicts the sun setting over Baltimore Harbor as viewed from the northwest either from Locust or Fells Point looking toward the Inner Harbor. The sun is about where the Harbor Court Hotel is today; to the left of the viewer is Federal Hill and Fort McHenry with the city of Baltimore in the background. Men stand and sit on docks facing the vibrant sunset illuminating the roiling clouds scudding over the city and the active harbor.
