Tower - Landersville Flintlock Martial Pistol
Circa 1790
New Land Pattern

A .75 caliber smoothbore, 9 inch round iron barrel; 16 inch overall length.  Iron ramrod with swivel yoke, large button tip.  Curly walnut stock attached to barrel with one key, no escutcheons, brass muzzle cap, brass butt cap with slightly extended wings, brass trigger guard. Tower marking behind cock. Proofs: two-loop crown over GR over arrow, two-loop crown over crossed scepters (not Birmingham), crown over 2 and W.U. in bottom of barrel; small 'a' over 'e'.  Crown over 3 and A.D. inside lock plate.  Pitting on barrel and lock plate, small stock crack to rear of lock and a few small dents.
