Horseman Saber

Horse head Pommel - SOLD


This example is brass mounted with horse head pommel, brass knuckle bow with solid counterguard having a brass finial; scabbard plate and a plain-shaped, wood grip having a few chips under the horses cheeks. The curved blade with broad fuller is decorated in gold with military and other fanciful motifs; about 85% blue and nearly 100% gold intact. The overall sword is in very good condition as is the leather scabbard which is complete with original brass throat and tip; never had a middle band. (Overall length: 34.5 inches; blade length: 29.75 inches.)
