N. P. Ames "Peace" Powder Flask

Brass powder flask featuring eagle over circle of 26 stars with pair of clasped hands surrounded by rays and military trophies behind a US shield; "W.S." stamped beside head of eagle on one side; screw cap marked "N. P. AMES / 1838:" triangular rings; seam is split and there is an old solder repair along the bottom and up one side. Accompanied by M1841 style "Mississippi Rifle" belt and pouch that is not period. The flask measures 9.75-inches in length.
