Pennsylvania Percussion Pistol
By Andrew Baker (1808-1887)
Curly Maple Finnish

The overall length is approximately 12-inches; maple with nice old finish having great color and nice patina; simulated tiger maple. The octagonal 8-groove barrel is .54 caliber and has a rear wedge and front blade sigh An oval German silver thumb-piece and coffin shaped silver inlay decorate the stock. The trigger guard is brass as is the rammer pipe and lock screw escutcheon. The barrel and tang are a nice even smoky gray; engraved lockplate and hammer are a brown-smoky gray color. Metal parts are in nice condition. The lock is marked "A. BAKER;" overall very good, mechanically fine with only a few small dings on barrel; usual dents and minor scratches and a tight grain crack on the right of the muzzle...all mentioned for accuracy.
