A Cased Percussion Pepperbox by J.R. Cooper
Stratford-upon-Avon, active 1837-1863 - SOLD
This .40 caliber percussion pistol was probably made circa 1850 and has a 3.375-inch barrel with fluted ribs. The frame is German silver as is the underhammer ring trigger. It is cased with a cap tin, a fine small flask with lots of finish, a scissor type bullet mold marked "76" with one handle extended forming a rammer, also...a screw driver and spare nipple and round balls. The case has a raised lid in the British style. Missing the keyhole escutcheon and key.
