This example having serial number 2517 retains 97% silver plating on frame, 95% bright blue barrel, 98% blue cylinder; burl grips have 98% varnish. In original 2-piece cardboard box covered with mottled brown paper. No markings on the box. With original Merwin & Bray business card picturing the Ballard rifle and indicating "sole agents" for Ballard’s Patent Breechloading rifles and carbines. Merwin & Bray Fire Arms Co's Patent cartridge (and loose ammunition loading) revolvers. Single shot pistols, etc. No. 262 Broadway N.Y. Also with original cartridge box: green body, orange sealing band.
