Paint Decorated
Bible-Trinket Box
Pennsylvania
Circa 1825

The rectangular top with applied half-round molding above the conforming dovetailed box raised on molded base continuing to beautifully turned legs.
The poplar box is faux grained; outstanding "crotch- veneer like" decoration.
Slight top shrinkage (Front to back.) offers very minor resistance to snugly closing, which will be easily taken care of by our professional conservator or yours. The lid does close with slight thumb pressure on the lock...as expected, minor "in-use" dings and a water ring on right rear of top; all else fine. (Height: 11.5 inches; Width: 16.25 inches; Depth: 11.75 inches.)

$3,900

Paint is full coverage and remains bright; top will benefit from a good cleaning...all yellow ground intact with faded red decoration. (Height: 8-inches; width: 17.75-inches; depth: 9.25-inches.)
