Wrought Iron Kettle Tipper
For Bed Chamber and/or Parlor Use
Circa 1800

A masterfully wrought tipper that would have been used in the parlor or bed chamber for serving tea-hot water. This assumption is based on the small size and the design which is beyond necessity...forthright art. The blacksmith was indulgent...the decorative elements of this basic service implement have great eye appeal and visual energy. The pivoting latch with decorative volute holds the kettles handle safely in place. The piece is/was hand forged in bright finish.
